Mga
ginamit kong computers..
Texas Instrument
TI
99/4A

Dito nag-umpisa ang curiosity ko sa computers.
Pero never had a chance to actually own one. Tried
to use it from one of the libraries back then pero
eng-eng pa ako noon. then came out...
IBM
PC Jr

Pero I used the Computer Lab doon
sa Eastfield Community College to mess around,.trying
to learning the BASIC Language. Then lumipat naman
ako sa Jersey City & that when I started using...
Commodore
64
This is where it all started. I think
around 1984-1985 when I stopped dreaming of getting
an IBM PC Jr and decided to invest some money to buy
this awesome computer at Toys r’ Us. Yep. I
bought it at Toys r Us.
Well you have to understand, the Commodore 64 is actually
an arcade machine with a keyboard attached to it.
Imagine the possibility of endless game play!
I had spent a lot of time just trying to program the
c-64 with some codes published in the computer magazines.
I can still remember the command “Poke xxxx, xxx”,
“Peek xxxxx, xxx” and a lot of data with
checksums. Sprites (movable blocks graphics), sound
chip capable of playing 9 octaves, colorful screen
resolution, etc…etc..
Couple of my jersey friends, Angel Rojas & Dave
(forgot your lastname man!-sorry!) setup our own BBS
(Bulletin Board System) mine namely – Syntax
BBS
Back then you can only have a 1-1 connection, unless
you have multiple lines at your house. Spent a lot
of hours tweaking & chatting with users who wants
to get in the BBS.
Commodore 128
Basically just a cosmetic upgrade for
the c-64.
then came the..
Commodore
AMIGA 500!

Now this is the best pc that I ever
used! The Commodore Amiga had been doing the GUI (Graphical
User Interface) way before Windows started their own.
Bought my Amiga from J&R Music & Computer
World at New York. Now that’s a step-up from
Toy’s R Us!
I hooked-up with Andy Santos from New York via those
BBS thingys. We were both surprised when we learn
that we are both pinoy. Oh yea..he sold me his A500
HD8+, an external harddrive with extra memory attached
to the side. I think that 8+ means there’s an
8 megs of additional external memory available. I’m
not sure how big is the hard drive, I think it’s
20 megs or so.
